Dear Padre, may you continue to be blessed. Thank you for this powerful spot on reflection. Food for thought.
🙏 Amen…truly a strong but truthful reflection Father. Much of Christianity is about picking the cherries of our choice and leaving the rest. We have failed to practice being a CHRISTian in a complete sense. Thank you Father for another resounding wake up call to us. May the light of Christ shine through us for all to see.🙏God bless you Father.
Very true Fr. Warner, but so much to say about not offending our Non Catholic Brethren who will in general simply refuse to see.
Now the point here is, I ask myself who has created them ?? Surely it is My God.. and then we are also called to be loving, caring and sharing towards them and particularly when we see a multitude of them in Churches like St. Michael and Mount Mary and even other Churches.. I surely do not even remotely subscribe or dare to, consider any other Faith as life giving as the Catholic Faith.
So with our Non Catholic Brethren who refuse to see, how then are we supposed to stay connected ?? I mean, by being disrespectful towards their sentiments ?? and invite unnecessary friction, misunderstanding, disharmony and above all a feeling of insecurity for both sides ??
But will that kind of rigid behaviour not go against one of our commandments ?? Rather, wouldn’t it be better to let OUR LIGHT SHINE by our actions and behaviour ??
Isn’t it challenging Fr. Warner ?? to the Catholic/Christian man on the street in today’s disharmonious conditions that we live in ??
Once, a Non Catholic received the Holy Communion in the Holy Name Cathedral at a afternoon service. Sitting in front of me, I noticed he was hesitant to put it in his mouth. So I gestured to him to hand it over to me. I had the Holy Communion and after Mass I explained to him the restriction of receiving the Holy Communion by Non Catholics which is a Holy Sacrament etc.. He was attentive and understood what I explained and assured me he will be careful not to… I saw in him the humility and sincerity with which he came to put forth his pleas to Our Lord. What I forgot to mention to him is : That the Holy Communion is not meant even to the CATHOLICS who are are UNREPENTANT. This should be part of the announcements when made for our Non Catholic Brethren for TRULY, living the CATHOLIC FAITH is no EASY STUFF…
My greatest regards to the Clergy and You Fr. Warner 🙏
