you have proved beyond doubt that you were NOT a duffer!
some students go through school having learning difficulties, which were never explored or explained.
i was told by one teacher…..a novice aiming to become a jesuit priest (whom i hated)…’why dont you go jump into the sea’? he was a brilliant scholar/ gold medallist from pune university……but had no teaching experience and could not translate his high thinking into students who were trying to grasp the basics of physics and chemistry in std 9 (the old ssc). on almost every wednesdays, the whole class had detention for 30mins, after school, why….because we could not answer his questions! fortunately for the jesuits, he left the profession and joined as a scientist at baba atomic….mumbai. as for the class of miserable students, we were saved in std 11 by another jesuit brother, a brilliant man who co-wrote the mandated physics text book in all schools. GOD BLESS HIS SOUL!
all my other teaches were either average or brilliant at teaching, but none were as repungent as the person mentioned above. i still achieved a degree….master of science in agriculture, where physics and chemistry were studied and i managed to scrape through.
SAD and CRIMINAL that teachers make such statements that can effect/affect student’s morale and future.
